Sailing Base History

Yellow Creek Sailing History

The sailing base at Yellow Creek begin operating in 1976 through a partnership between the park, Student Coop, and university. The lease expired in 2005, but in 2011 Friends of Yellow Creek and the park opened the base up again to sailing.

Now there are a hundred launches a year from the base, with members of the community program and participants in the IUP Sailing Club sharing the facility.
